The land of promise… Mindanao is the southernmost geographical division in the Philippines comprised of the island of Mindanao, the 19th largest in the world, and other smaller islands including those in the Sulu Archipelago.
The current President Rodrigo Duterte, the first to come from Mindanao, is hoping to leave a legacy as he leads an undertaking to transform Mindanao, besieged with underdevelopment for decades, into a progressive economic region.
My first trip to Mindanao happened in August, 2016. I got to visit the provinces of Davao del Norte, Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental. Click on the regions below to follow my journey throughout Mindanao.
